Kranji Sec Sports Fiesta

Today was just an AWESOME day. I could just keep on thinking about it forever and ever... It's Kranji Secondary School's Sports and Fitness Fiesta. It sounds KINDA lame, but if you know the true story about it, you'll be, well, WOWED. Okay, maybe not wowed uh. I can't make any promises.

Woke up at like, 4.30am. I was like, "Aww man, 4.30? Better go back to sleep.". And I just lay there in bed... until freaking 6am because I couldn't fall asleep again. DAMN. So I then... got out of bed and half-boiled some eggs. Then I went to shower. After shower, eat those eggs. And coffee. Blah blah, take bus and reached school. I was like, "Wah, so empty ah?". Yeah, it WAS kinda empty just now.

According to the letter that we were given, it said that Sec 1 was going first at 7.45. But then nobody went until like, 8.05 or something. And it was the Sec 4s that who were going first. So after the Sec 4 girls, it was the Sec 1 guys turn. At first, I actually thought that the guys and girls would run together. After seeing the sheer size of just the Sec 1 guys, it was probably a good idea to seperate us 2. You know, there would be only a bit of space to run per person. And that would make things slow and put you at a disadvantage.

And that is why it's good to start at the front. Or middle. It would be horrible to start at the back because you just gotta overtake so many people. But you feel so good when you overtake them all. IF you overtake them all. Fud and Rahmmotek were there to support me. Okay, well, more like disturb me.

I started the race thinking that 100% I won't get into top 10. But... I DID! Oh, and past the Chinese temple, I thought that I was actually first. That's because I didn't see any Sec 1 guy in front of me. :P So once I finished the race, I found out that I was actually 5th. So, Azizi was first and Godffrey was 2nd. Jon was 8th. We actually planned to jog together but when the race started, I just didn't feel like it.

Yingli told me that he wasn't in the top 10, but he got a time below 11 min. THAT MEANS that I did 3.2km in LESS THAN 10 MIN. WOO! I feel awesome. Oh yeah, top 10 get a trophy. The trophy definitely motivated me. Here it is:

I'm not showing off, I'm just telling you about my efforts.
I'm actually damn surprised. Last year, P6, I did 1.6km run, 10 min 7 sec. Sec 1, do 3.2km, less than 10 min. I did TWICE the distance in LESS time. That's just awesome.

After the event, there was some games. I played some floorball... twice. I got 2 stickers.. and I found one on the floor, so I took it. Hahahaha. :P After dismissal, go lepak for a while. Awesome day.

BIG MOMMAS. (Movie Review)

BIG MOMMAS: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

So yesterday, I went Cathay Cinexplex at Causeway Point to watch Big Mommas. Well, the plan was to watch Diary Of A Wimpy Kid at 1.10pm, but we were kinda... late. So after some discussion, we decided to watch Big Mommas at 4.40pm rather than World Invasion at 4.20pm. Yup, these small things would have changed this blog post entirely. Alright, let's get to the review...

Movie: Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son
Review by: Syazwan Jainal (a.k.a. Syazwan FellDown)

The movie starts off with Malcolm Turner (played by Martin Lawrence) chasing his mailman for his mail. He sees that he gets a letter that his son Trent Turner (played by Brandon T. Jackson) is accepted into Duke University. Malcolm tracks down Trent to find that he is outside his high school, which he has graduated from. He is performing his song "Lyrical Miracle" which I can't seem to get out of my head. Malcolm stops Trent and brings him home. All the way home, Trent tries to get Malcolm to sign a recording contract for the Prodi-G(Trent). Malcolm does not want to sign it as he does not want Trent to give up his college education at Duke. Malcolm then goes to work where he has to face some bad guys.

Heeding advice from his friend, Trent follows Malcolm in hopes of getting his contract signed. Trent witnesses the snitch that Malcolm had sent die and hides. His phone suddenly starts ringing with 'Lyrical Miracle' as his ringtone. Dumbass, set it to silent. Malcolm saves Trent in the nick of time and they escape. Chirkov tells his men to hunt down Trent and kill him as he was a witness. Malcolm then tells the both of them to go undercover and stay away from home. And thus, BIG MOMMAS.

Malcolm find out that the flash drive he is looking for is at Georgia Girls' School. They go to the Georgia Girls' School For The Arts and Trent enrols. Numerous events occur and Malcolm deduces that the flash drive was in a music box that was stolen. Eventually, Trent blows his cover when his friends spot him on a date with Hayley (as himself). His friends then call Chirkov, who had presented himself as a record producer. When Trent changes back to the fatass girl, Chirkov's men could no longer recognise Trent and thought that he had disappeared. Malcolm finds out that it was actually Hayley that stole the music box.

Hayley, hoping that Trent would be there to duet with him but Trent could not as he needed to keep his cover. Hayley is unable to perform but undercover Trent does the duet together with him. Hayley then finds out that it was actually Trent all along and is enraged.

They then go to the library where Hayley places back the music box. There, Malcolm, Trent and Hayley almost die as they were cornered by Chirkov. Luckily for them, the school's janitor, Kurtis Kool, saves them by stun gunning Chirkov.

The movie then ends with "Lyrical Miracle" music video featuring Malcolm as Big Momma and Kurtis Kool.

I'm new to the series, and I'd say that it wasn't too bad. However, I feel that for a comedy film, there just wasn't enough... comedy. But, that's just my opinion. Comedy rating... 7/10. Would I watch it again? Yes. Watch it for a 3rd time? Maybe. 7/10 for re-watchability. I don't think the content was enough. I just felt that there wasn't enough in the movie. It felt like it was lacking something. 6/10 for content. That would make the score... 6.6/10. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. It was alright.

I can't get that song "Lyrical Miracle" out of my head. Hahahaha.

NPCC Camp! (Part 1/2)

So I'm finally back after the NPCC camp. It wasn't as boring as I had first expected it to be. Seriously, when you're in camp, you're ALWAYS looking forward to food. So overall, the camp wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

---
So on Friday, school ended at 12.40pm instead of 12.25pm because assembly took up that extra 15 mins. Unfortunately. So after that, I went straight home to pack my stuffs. After packing and showering and eating and getting the last dose of lappy before the camp, I went out to go to school at 2.17pm.

The bus was late and reached at around 2.25pm. Reached school with Deric at around maybe... 2.35pm? Yeah. Then we had to fall in outside of the NPCC room, then we had to surrender our phones, wallets and any spray-deo. After that, we were all grouped. I was in group G. Then group F, G, H were sent to bunk 2D. Or to Kranjians, classroom 2D. And I saw Rahmmotek chilling wif Emilyanna and Shadzee downstairs, watching Kranji v. Fajar.

A little fast forward: After the camp, I found out that Fajar lost to Kranji 2-0. WOO! KRANJI ROCKS!

On that day, we played mostly games. Didn't do much. Then at night there was a campfire. I was (voluntarily) the mascot for my team. Yeah, I was a...  idk what. I was supposed to be a knight, but then I somehow became a king. Then it was lights off in our bunks at 12am. I slept and woke up like, 3 times before I decided to not sleep more. Lights on at 6.30am.

I heard that NCC had PT at 3am. Poor guys. And I also saw band having PT. In the morning. Hahahaa. So it was the 2nd day. First we had our own PT. Wasn't so bad, actually. Breakfast was bread. Breakfast sucked. And I actually wanted bread more than I ever had during breakfast hahahah.

After breakfast, we had some more activities. For lunch, we did field cooking with solid fuel. Solid fuel sounds damn cool. But it's also poisonous. So the people that touched it needed to wash their hands before eating. I didn't touch it. Field cooking, we cooked maggi. Well, KOKA brand. And it was... tomato flavour. O.o wtf. WHO BUYS TOMATO FLAVOUR, SERIOUSLY MAN?! Okay, so after lunch, we had some games.

Solid fuel.
After all those games were done, we could finally return home. We got back our wallets and phones. And we were also sad that we didn't get to play with our water bombs. Too bad...

I was relieved to finally be back home, yay! But that's not the end of the day... keep reading for part 2. Be sure to follow if you like this blog. If you're tired of the music, let me know. Ok, bye!

End note: NCC looks more freaking tough. They do 24 sets of 8 jumping jacks while NPCC does 3 sets of 8. NP so slack, I like it! :D

Sesat-ism.

Sesat-ism. It's probably a word that you've never heard of. You know why? Because I made it up. For the Chinese, sesat actually means lost. Sesat-ism would probably be the act of being lost. I just can't explain it in a better way, sorry. So to all you Chinese, don't be sad. Oh yeah, and this post is actually quite overdue, so let's get to it.

TUESDAY!!

On Tuesday, with nothing better to do, I followed my 1B friends to South View and then to where they called "Clubhouse". They said it was somewhere you could like, climb and stuff. :P What the clubhouse actually was definitely different than what I expected. It's right beside CCK PRIMARY and it's just... a carpark. And the way it was built made it possible to climb in a lot of spots. To be honest, I didn't expect my friends to be so daring that they would climb so freaking high up. WOW.

So after we reached there, we did nothing (a.k.a. LEPAK) for a while then we play catching. I didn't run but I just hid in one spot. Rahmmotek called me and said he wanted to lepak, so I surrendered and chao-ed. He told me that I should take 300 to get back. I went to the nearest bus stop and there was only 172. I went to the next nearest bus stop and found 300. 300 is the CCK-Teck Whye version of 302. :P I sound dumb, no offence to me. Hahaha.

So I met him at the library, and I couldn't recognise him at first. Why? He was wearing a BEANIE. I literally walked, looked at him (unknowingly) and then walked one round past him. I had no idea that was him! Blame Rahmmotek for wearing the beanie. Muahaha. Then we went to Limbang and Shadzee treat us bubble tea! :D

RAHMAT BEANIE FACE!
Can't recognise him, right? Haha.

So overall, Tuesday was quite a fun day and I learned a few things that day.

  1. The "Clubhouse" is near 296A and near Sunshine Plaza
  2. 300 is like 302.
  3. 300 loops like 302.
  4. I can't recognise Rahmmotek when he's wearing a beanie.
I'm going for NPCC camp, so you can expect to see a post either on Saturday or Sunday. PROMOTE THIS BLOG PLEASE! THANKS! :D

Arghh, I hate my CCA.

4 words. I. Hate. My. CCA. Or maybe it's five words, considering CCA is actually made up of 2 words. For those of you wondering what's my CCA, my CCA is NPCC. So yesterday, I went for training for the first time EVER. And imma tell you, I hated it.

---
After prayers, I had to sacrifice my lepak time for NPCC training. Why can't they have it on thursday?? I mean, come on! Oh wait, I wanna watch matches, so it's good that it's not friday. So I needed to assemble by 2.30. Then wtf, assemble took so freaking long, maybe around 3pm then start. Then we go over to the Quadrangle and then we learn some drills. Sedia, senangdiri, something kanan and one other thing. So freaking boring sia. And my left foot freaking hurt because of all the stomping I did.

Sometimes, I wish school had a CCA where ANYBODY could join and it wasn't a uniform group. It wouldn't be an academic CCA. Like, where you have fun. Not like Clubs & Societies as you get to choose what to do and there was very little effort to be put in. Have camps that wouldn't clash with your lepak time. That would be awesome.

So after all those boring drills, we headed to the basketball court to do some stretching. I was like, "Hell yeah, do some fitness stuffs. Way better than all those drills.". Yeah, so after all that stretching, we headed to the fitness corner. Needed to do the monkey bars. I almost did it. Just short of one freaking bar. After that, needed to lift a log 10 times. Meh, easy. Then pull ups. I suck at it. They expect us to do it. AT SEC ONE. Idiots.

Then we went to the parade square to do some more fitness. Arghh, this is the one I hate; PUSH UPS. We did like, 2 sets of 10. Of course, I didn't do it properly as if I did, I'd probably be able to do only 1 or 2. Or 3. Then the easy part. Do crunches. Meh, I find those easy. After that, recover. Then, went back to the NPCC room. After like, doing a bit more drills, we were dismissed. Wtf, so embarassing. I could see Grace and Winnie laughing. I hate NPCC so baaddd... If only I could turn back time and go to the soccer trial again. Haish...
