Subconsciousness

I was going to watch the match between Cameroon and Japan earlier today. However, I did not. When i woke up, it was already 7am! After two days of missing world cup matches, i finally found out that i turned off my alarm subconsciously. How I knew? Well, if i were fully aware, i would know. In this case, i was the only one inside the room. My brother was outside sleeping. Well, that's about it. This was typed on phone with help from auto dictionary.

Germany v Ghana

Germany and Ghana. Earlier today at the time of this post, they were in a match. The result, Germany 1-0 Ghana. I didn't watch the match, tho. For some reason, i didn't hear my alarm go off. I know it did, but i just didn't hear it. I watched the encore telecast later today.

It was the first time ever in my life that I didn't hear my alarm. This blog entry was typed entirely on my phone, with help from auto dictionary.

Edit: When I got to the blog on my laptop, I changed the font to Georgia and then changed my sig to the FIFA World Cup sig.

England and USA

England and USA. This time, they are not facing each other but instead, it's the results of both of their matches. To the huge surprise of many, England will qualify for the Knockout stage a.k.a. Round of 16. USA also qualifies for the knockout stage. Before the end of their respective matches, they both had 2 points. Slovenia 3 points and Algeria 1 point. If England won their match, they would advance to the next round regardless of the result of their match.

USA. Believe it or not, former US president Bill Clinton was there to watch the match. I only knew this at the end of the match. There was a camera shot of Bill Clinton and the commentator mentioned the name Bill Clinton. Every line of this paragraph has had the name of that guy. USA 1-0 Algeria. Bill Clinton. USA were lucky to get that goal in injury time. Slovenia 0-1 England. Bill Clinton. I missed the goal as the goal was scored just as I changed from England to USA match. Bill Clinton. :)

Later on at the time of this post will be Germany v Ghana and Serbia v Australia. Germany gonna be an exciting match. Now, I can update my blog via MMS or email. Updates on-the-go. But it's probably gonna be annoying. I mean, if I were to type a blog entry this long, it would be tiring and very time-consuming.

Finally more blog posts

It's been quite some time since I've posted something on my blog. I've just been too lazy to do that. Now, first I'm gonna talk about the FIFA World Cup.

England. A team that was known to be very attacking and also a team that was known to beat most of the teams that they were facing. Now, it has all changed. For England to proceed to the next round, they have to beat Slovenia. Something that seems very unlikely. Beat Slovenia, go to the next round regardless of who wins USA v Algeria. I don't think England can make it.

Spain. Hot favourites for the FIFA World Cup. Now one thing. They lost to Switzerland. It was the first time out of 15 or 16 times that they have met in international meeting that they have lost.

Shock results have been in this World Cup. Such as Brazil 2-1 North Korea. However, there are results that reflect the classic FIFA World Cup. Argentina 4-1 South Korea, Germany 4-0 Australia. Those shock results might be because of the Jabulani World Cup ball. It might be the players. Whatever we know, it might be almost the exciting part of the World Cup.

First 2 FIFA World Cup match results

The FIFA World Cup kicked off yesterday and many of my friends stayed up to watch it. Not only male, but also some females. I was on Facebook too. I only managed to catch the opening match, South Africa v Mexico. After South Africa's "World Cup Moment" goal, I was sure that South Africa had a chance to win this match. I was sad when Mexico scored. My high hopes for South Africa were suddenly dashed. The result: South Africa 1-1 Mexico. According to Yahoo! Eurosport, South Africa have never lost their first World Cup match. 14 Wins and 6 Draws(including this one). It was a good match. Lots of opportunities. South Africa had lots of chances to score another goal. IMO, the referee blew the whistle too soon. As in he should not have blown the whistle yet. South Africa was attacking. AFAIK, refs aren't supposed to blow when one team is attacking!

Now for the 2nd match. I didn't get to watch it live but I DID watch about 30 mins of the encore telecast. It was Uruguay v France at Cape Town. The result: Uruguay 0-0 France. It is still a shock result. The thing is, in both matches, the result was a draw. Uruguay and France have both won the World Cup. Uruguay won the 1st World Cup way back in 1930. France's last World Cup win was in 1998. My birth year. Even though it ended in a 0-0 draw, It was an exciting match. Like South Africa, both teams had lots of chances. Unfortunately, those chances did not end up in a goal.

Till next time, this is

Later that day....

Later is the start of the FIFA World Cup. It is finally here after 4 years! I still remember back during the 2006 World Cup in Germany. I told my brother to wake me up for the final. But, he DIDN'T! This time, I'll make sure that I get to watch the finals. This is a very short blog entry as I don't have many ideas. About that song "Waka Waka"....yeah, I downloaded it. It's actually quite OK. Not too bad. I actually didn't know that Shakira was from Colombia. So, yeah. Till next time.

FIFA World Cup

Tomorrow is the start of the FIFA World Cup and I'm pretty excited. The FIFA World Cup is an event that is held once every four years for a duration of a month. It is the highest international football honour and only 7 countries have ever won it. Brazil tops the chart with 5 wins, Italy with 4, Germany with 3, Argentina and Uruguay with 2 and France and England with 1.

This year's world cup will be held in South Africa as part  of a policy to rotate the event among football confederations. The official theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup can be found here(go on, click it!) . It is called Waka Waka and for some reason, I don't like it. No, I'm not racist and I don't hate other religions. I respect everybody.

With that out of the way, we can get on to the opinions. But first, here's what the trophy looks like:
Just so that nothing bad happens, I'm going to tell you something VERY public. You know what it is? No? Wanna know? Well, ok. I am not associated with FIFA in any way and the trophy and logo belongs to FIFA. The pictures were gotten from Wikipedia.

Back to what I said earlier. Opinions. A lot of people, including experts, say that Spain is going to win the World Cup this year. This is probably due to the fact that they won the Euro 2008. I have three choices for who's gonna win the World Cup this year. 1) Argentina. They have a great squad which includes Tevez, Messi, Milito and Zanetti. 2) Spain. Yes, Spain. I agree with some of the experts. I just don't believe that Portugal can win. And finally, 3) Italy. Italy won the previous World Cup. They might be able to defend their title. They have Buffon, Cannavaro, De Rossi, Iaquinta, etc.

And as 2 final notes, I do 60 sit-ups per day. 30 in the morning, 30 at night. The second one, you obsessed Justin Bieber fans can go watch your MTV while us football fans watch our

boring boring holidays

Well, school is over and here comes the boring holidays. Sure, i actually love holidays but it's gonna be quite boring. I mean, there's gonna be nothing to do. My PS2 is broken, my bike is having problems, i only get to use the laptop at night, etc.

Going to have to go back to school on the 1st and 3rd week for supplementary lessons so i kinda have a chance to meet up with friends again. Well, when you're bored, you'll do ANYTHING!

In other news, I passed my 1.6km walk/run with flying colours! Got a time of 10:07! A new record! I actually could have gotten 3rd but in the last about.....7(?) laps my foot felt like it had a sharp pain. Until now(3/6/2010), my foot is still painful. I predict that it will probably take about one month of rest to heal. But now it feels quite ok actually. I just can't run.

EDIT: Supplementary classes were really boring. 2nd day 3 hrs of English/Science and 4th day English/Science 3 hrs straight! Aw man! - 3/6/2010
