McDonald's? WUT?

FAMILY GUY
James: Hey Tiger, whatcha been up to?
Tiger Woods: I just found out we have the same surname; Woods
James Woods: Wow, and our names are the same amount of characters too! Been *doin* anything lately?
Tiger Woods: Well, not mu- hey, F*** you asshole!
James Woods: Oh Tiger, go get yourself a Cock- erm, I mean Coke.
Tiger Woods: *expression =.=''*

According to a Yahoo! Fit-to-Post blog entry, the woman in the video of the post below was not really *intentionally* scolding those Bangladeshi workers. It turns out that the woman was schizophrenic. According to Spellcheck, I spelled that right. The person defending the woman was her sister. Yeahp. Her sister. That is all.
---------------------------------------------------------------

MCDONALD'S

McDonald's. McDonald's is one of the world's largest supermarket fast-food chains. It was at one time the largest. Despite being one of the world's largest fast-food chains, it is also one of the most heavily criticized.

It is usually criticized as it is thought that people that eat LOTS AND LOTS of McD's food will become fat. In my opinion, this is not true. It is THEIR fault for eating so much of McD's food and doing SO LITTLE excercise. Think of it as video games. If you play too much video games, their will be negative impacts. It will be YOUR fault for playing too much video games and doing SO FEW other activities.

Personally, I think this is ridiculous. You can't blame a company for your own fault. Like, you can't blame the pencil manufacturer for making you sharpen the pencils a lot of times. It's your fault for overusing the pencil and not taking care of it properly. Look at this food below:

It WILL  be your fault if you overdose on this stuff. I like french fries. Read my "Potatoes" post if you haven't yet done so.

The criticism on McD's has been huge. There has even been a movie entitled "Supersize Me" made where a guy eats PURELY McDonald's food for 30 days. I have watched it. You can watch the entire movie on YouTube. I actually enjoyed the movie. However, I have some arguments.

1. Who eats breakfast, lunch and dinner ALL at McDonald's?
-I mean, c'mon now. You'd have to be some overweightly obese person with a complete OBSESSION with McDonald's to do that.

2. Even if the person eats 2 meals at McD's, they might probably be working. Maybe on their lunch break, not a jobless person with nothing better to do. In the movie, the guy doesn't get a lot of excercise. But even the average employee would get a somewhat good amount of excercise.

3. The guy is American.
-And thus begins the stereotype that all Americans are fat. Except cool artistes(not including Justin Bieber because he is gay and uncool.) And also the stereotype that only Americans would do that.

So whatcha think? Post a comment as "Anonymous" or something.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

If you have known my blog for quite a while, you will notice that its look has been changed. I just really kinda hated the old look which seemed too nerdy and I decided to go for a classic and simple look. Well, maybe not THAT simple. Tell me whatcha think. New banner too.

Random Topic: Crazy ah?

This is not a serious post. ALL not serious posts will have Georgia font... BZZZZZZZZ..

"SIAO EH, SIAO EH! ALL NO MONEY BETTER AH! GO PLAY WITH YOUR LANJ***(D***) AH!"
-That crazy auntie in the video I'm about to show you

People these days ah, WTF man? The auntie go and marah(scold) all the bangladeshi workers near her in the MRT! Seriously man, the auntie is really nuts! The video just can't be explained with words. Watch the vid below:

If you're not Singaporean or my friends...or Chinese, you probably won't understand the vid above. Just try to take in as much as you can.

My description: Crazed(and possibly possessed) auntie with very pale face shouts at Bangladeshi workers in Singapore MRT train. Also shouts at: some guy sitting in the reserved seat. DISCLAIMER: Auntie is most likely racist.

The auntie shouted at the guy in the reserved seat. She was like, "EH, YOU PREGNANT AH? PREGNANT AH? IF NOT PREGNANT DUN SIT HERE LAH!". Yep. Something like that. And I'm telling you, NO SINGAPOREAN STEREOTYPES ARE LIKE THIS. None. Numero Uno. Oh wait, that's 1. I mean kosong. 0 O. O.o o.O O.O o.o . Then I stumbled upon this very funny comment:

I think the gahmen should get hire this woman to make people give up their seats. THEN maybe people would listen.
- Some commenter on the YouTube video

If you pay attention, the auntie actually asked one of the workers for money after scolding him. WTF Man!

MPPPV(My Personal Point of View): This auntie should actually be grateful for the bangladeshi workers in Singapore. Without them, we might not have our Singapore Flyer and many of our tall buildings. This auntie has no common sense. After scold people, get them out of their seat, sit in their seat. Then when some Chinese guy sits on her old seat, she is just relaxed. Racist. Utterly racist. Makes me wanna facepalm.
Oh myyyyyyy gggoooossssshhhhhhhh....... I just hope this auntie never does this again. Like, ever. This is actually illegal in Singapore. It's racial discrimination.

We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people.
Regardless of RACE, LANGUAGE OR RELIGION.
To build a democratic society,
based on justice and equality,
so as to achieve happiness,
prosperity and progress for our nation.
- The Singapore pledge.

This auntie just makes the Singaporean people look really bad. Watever lah. As long as she never does this EVER AGAIN.

Lolwut? O.o o.O O.O o.o

My Life: The New Format & What the...?

WRITTEN ON 25TH AND 26TH SEPTEMBER 2010

I have a new blog posting format. However, I'm not really following it. Why? Because I'm studying for my Primary School Leaving Examination(PSLE). It is the MOST important exam in my life. So far. It determines which secondary school I go to and which friends I make and my life choices. Very important. However, I DO promise, once my PSLE is over(in about another 16 days), I WILL follow my schedule. I might also do some re-scheduling.

--------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT THE?!?!?

This part of My Life of Syazwan(aka justbloggering) is brought to you by: Blogger, JustBloggering, justbloggering and Syazwan.

Hey world. It's been quite some time since I gave you one of these. Let's skip all the way to Friday.

It's the 3rd week of Syawal now and time is flying by fast. My PSLE will be in a few days which means the next few days will be really really stressful for me. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were just fillers for Friday.

FRIDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2010:

Today I was really really excited as I was going to jalan raya with my friends. They are: Aidil, Fudhail, Aniq, Ameerul, Rahmat, Ghazali, Me, Thaqif, Haffiyan and Diyana. And later on also Syazwina or better known as Aniq's little sister. So...yeah...let's get to it.

I met up with Aniq, Ameerul and Ghazali at the bus stop near my school at around 3pm. Yes, 3PM not 2PM! Hahaha @ you K-pop fans. Then go Thaqif's house... blah blah blah. Then when we went to Haffiyan's house, me, fudhail and rahmat got prank calls. The person only said "Bye" and used sound clips from the Internet to communicate. The fun part was the person became like a DJ. The person would play certain songs that we requested. It was fun. The fact that I get FREE INCOMING CALLS made it even more fun. All I know is that the person is a girl and out of us, she only knew me, Fudhail and Rahmat's num. Hehe.

The last house we went to was Aidil's house. Then get duit raya... yadda yadda yadda. I got home. Duit raya gotten on that day - $12. Total now - dunno but at least $110.

SATURDAY, 26TH SEPTEMBER 2010

I was going to get my prize which I won in F&N Coca Cola lucky draw. I got my father to follow me to claim my prize at the Letrain Redemption Centre at The Bencoolen #02-20. It was a cap. The actual claiming period was until 30th June but then I didn't have the code anymore. Then they called me telling me that I needed to claim the prize by the end of September. WAke me up when September ends....

Then we reached there. When we got there, I had to fill in a form before they gave me a prize. Halfway through filling the form, I saw "Minors(under 21) need a parent/guardian to claim the prize" or something like that. Then I called in  my father to fill in the rest of the form. Then I got my prize.

With one extra thing. The actual prize was an Adidas Cap but I also got an Adidas shoebag. How I wish that was a schoolbag. *Daydreams*. The Adidas cap was cool but it was red and the "Adidas" written on it was really small. If it was grey and black, I wouldn't mind but red just doesn't seem to fit in with the cap.

Then we went home. When we reached Choa Chu Kang bus interchange, my father got somewhat pissed at the people taking public transport. Just about to ride the bus and then two kids cut in front of my father "Oi!" my father shouted. The kids seemed to not care at all. Still, he was quite mad.

Halfway through, one particular guy alighted from the bus. He was a complete stranger to me, though. When he got off, he seemed to stare at some grass. I assumed that he was playing with mimosa plants. Those are fun :D. Suddenly, he vomitted, I was like, "WTF man." Euggghhhhh that was a horrible sight.

Yes, HORRIBLE.
Eventually got off the bus. Just before getting off, saw vomit on the stairs. I was real careful not to step on it. Disgusting. Purely and utterly disgusting. At night, we had some visitors to our home. It was my future brother-in-law's family. Yep. Then started writing this blog post. Sorry for taking so long. Couldn't concentrate.

THAT WAS MY LIFE. DEAL WITH IT.
----------------------------------------------------------------

So how was this 2nd edition of My Life? Leave a comment and let me know. You can comment as anonymous, too. You can also use your WordPress acc. Follow this blog too. It WILL get better as I blog more. I promise that I will fully follow the blog schedule after PSLE.

NOW CHAO OUTSIDE!!!

The News Topic: Mas Selamat has been deported to S'pore

This is a serious post. All serious posts will NOT have Georgia font.

Mas Selamat Bin Kastari(pic below) has been deported to Singapore after serving 18 months at a detention centre in Malaysia.

Yes, this guy right here.

In case you're wondering, the one at the top left-hand corner is the real, unedited pic.

Mas Selamat Bin Kastari was caught back in April 2009 in Malaysia but it was not known to the public until a few months later. He is suspected of trying to crash an airplane into Changi Airport in 2003.

Now we can't pretend that airplanes are like shooting stars now, can we?

He escaped on 27 Feb 2008 by wriggling out a bathroom window. It embarassed the city-state(Singapore) which is known for its rigorous security. That was when he disappeared and the 1-year manhunt began.

+++++ He actually made it to Malaysia by crawling through the sewers at night. One time, he actually met someone working at a cemetery on the night of his escape. The worker, unfortunately, did not know that Mas Selamat Bin Kastari was an escapee from the nearby Woodlands Detention Centre. Kinda sad, but in the end, caught anyways.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for reading this news report. I hope you have enjoyed it. As for the picture, if I have wrongly used the pic, I will gladly remove it. Comment on this. By the way, you can comment on this as "Anonymous". Just select it from the drop-down list.

Random Topic Of The Week: Potatoes

Potatoes. Potatoes. Potatoes Potaaaeeeeeeeeetoessss!! Potatoes.

Potatoes.
Potatoes can be used for lots and lots of stuff. They are used in french fries, your salads, potato chips, steamed potatoes, baked potatoes and some more. They taste very good and most people like them. Every single part of the potato(only) is edible. When I say every part of the potato, I mean just the potato, not the whole plant.

The English word "potato" comes from the Spanish word "patata". Patata, not padada. Potatoes taste so good and it's really almost hassle-free. You can enjoy potatoes anywhere and anytime without anybody looking at you in a weird way. Have your chips or fries anywhere. It might be SLIGHTLY strange to eat a whole baked potato in public. Just admit it; the whole potato can't fit in your mouth. DEAL WITH IT.
The People's Republic Of China(DPRK(Oops, I mean PRC)) are the world's largest producers of potatoes. Followed by Russia, India, US, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands and France. PRC has a hand in 70 million metric tons' worth of potatoes.(According to a survey in 2006.)

Here's the nutritional value of each 100g of potatoes:
*From Wikipedia
As you can see from the above picture, there is quite a lot of energy in the potatoes. The sodium content is 6mg which is absolutely 0% in the potatoes. 14% iron is good. 33% Vitamin C and 19% Vitamin B6. And 0.1g of fat PER 100g OF POTATO. Ain't that great.

My Take on it: I really like potatoes. No matter what form they are in, I enjoy them. Fries, chips, baked, steamed, with curry, I still enjoy them. They taste good and are good for you. It doesn't create much hassle for you. Eating it with chilli sauce is good. Sometimes mayonnaise(With help from Spellcheck) is good with it too.

Here's the moral of the story; potatoes taste good. But don't overdose on the chips and fries! o.O

POTAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEETTTTTTOOEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!

My Life Fridays: 17.9.2010

Today is the first day of my new blog posting format. Read it in the sidebar if you haven't done so already.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Be reminded that as I am a student, I MIGHT NOT follow this schedule completely and I may miss some. And today is My Life Fridays.

Intro: My Life Fridays is about me on my life. On Fridays. I also have My Life Thursday which is just called "My Life" as 5 days is enough isn't it? Fridays has 1 day as it is really actually just a filler. And also because shit happens on Fridays, doesn't it?

FRIDAY, 17 SEPTEMBER 2010:

I woke up slightly later than the usual 5.55AM as today, I don't have to come so early. I just had to be assembled in my school hall by 8.15AM. So then I just got out of bed around 6.56AM to the toilet. Then I brushed my teeth and peed. I don't remember if it was yellow or clear. I dunno. Pretty much the only stress I had today was my PSLE Listening Comprehension. PSLE is a really important exam and it will probably determine the REST OF MY LIFE.

After brushing, I went to shower. I REALLY don't want to be late because my father is showering. I GET TO DO IT FIRST DAMMIT. So I did. Then I had breakfast. Mmmm... Maggi Mee with egg and fish fillet. MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmMmmmMMMMmmmMmmmm.......

So then at around 7.45AM, my friend arrived to put his handphone here. Yep. We went downstairs. Met my friend who broke his left wrist yesterday. I feel sorry for him.

He was playing with the monkeybars and my OTHER friend was reading my SMS inbox and then the rest is...yesterday. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU READ MY SMS INBOX. YOU HEAR THAT?!?!?

Then his mother drove us to school. Just the 5 of us(including my friend's mother). We assembled in the hall, blah blah blah.

Then had our MT Listening Comprehension. Then Recess, and then EL Listening Comprehension. After that, I stayed in school for a bit to wait for the rain to stop. Then we lepak for awhile. Yep. Played *INTERNATIONAL SPORT* Football. Yes, it's called FOOTBALL not Soccer.

Soccer is American. Football is International. -Me

Then I went home, had dinner. Then came up with this new blog posting format. =). Then, now I'm posting this on Blogger which will be streamed to my Facebook. Ain't that awesome?

Weezer

Weezer is an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1992. The band consists of River Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shiner. They are best known for hits such as "Island In The Sun", "Pork And Beans" and "Beverly Hills".

Recently, they have appeared in many famous YouTubers' videos. Some of them are Fred, davedays, raywilliamjohnson, schmoyoho, Onision and TayZonday. They are doing it to promote their 8th studio album entitled "Hurley".

"Pork And Beans" has shots of stars of many viral videos such as "Numa Numa", "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!", "Chocolate Rain" and "Afro Ninja".

The song was well received by many critics and fans. It first appeared on YouTube and stayed very popular for quite a few weeks. It even spend 11 weeks #1 on America's "Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks". The critics felt that the group returned to their early days' power-pop sound.

My Opinion: This song is a really good song. The music video is also a very good music video, featuring many YouTube celebrities. It helped to really popularise the video. If you haven't watched Weezer's "Pork And Beans", go watch it now!

Beverly Hills is another good song.

Inspiration: Rivers Cuomo's story behind "Beverly Hills": "I was at the opening of the new Hollywood Bowl and I flipped through the program and I saw a picture of Wilson Phillips. And for some reason I just thought how nice it would be to marry, like, an “established” celebrity and live in Beverly Hills and be part of that world. And it was a totally sincere desire. And then I wrote that song, Beverly Hills. For some reason, by the time it came out—and the video came out—it got twisted around into something that seemed sarcastic. But originally it wasn’t meant to be sarcastic at all."
- Quoted from Wikipedia

Beverly Hills is really catchy with its tune and chorus. Back when it was released, lots of people were singing it. I didn't actually know it, I just read it off the Internets. The Simpsons, the longest-ever running cartoon in history, made a spin-off version of it entitled "Waverly Hills" that was used in episode #LABF10 Season 20, Episode 19 Waverly Hills 9-0-2-1-D'oh.

Opinion: Though old, the song is still quite good. It's really catchy with the chorus. Watch both the music video and "The Simpsons" episode  #LABF10 Season 20, Episode 19 Waverly Hills 9-0-2-1-D'oh. GO GO GO!

I hope that Weezer will be successful in promoting Hurley. For Muslims around the world, this is a very happy time as we are now celebrating Hari Raya/Eid'Ul Fitr/Syawal.

Fatal MotoGP Crash

There has been a fatal MotoGP crash yesterday at the San Marino GP. It happened to Shoya Tomizawa who was racing in the Moto2 class. The fellow rider from injuries sustained during the crash.

He came off his Suter bike when he was under pressure from Italian Alex de Angelis. Neither de Angelis nor British rider Scott Redding were able to avoid hitting Tomizawa, who was propelled over 40 metres and off the track into the gravel. It was only his first season in Moto2, having competed in the 250cc category last season. He had begun the season in style after winning the curtain raiser in Qatar. He followed it up in Spain but his form has tailed off since then and he was seventh in the overall standings with 82 points.

The crash was surely a tragic one and also an unexpected one. Other than this, one other famous crash has happened here. The late Ayrton Senna. He could not do his cornering properly and then crashed into a wall. Tragic.

Shoya Tomizawa was hit by Alex de Angelis and Scott Redding and then flung 40 metres into the air before landing on the gravel. It's really painful to land on the gravel especially if you have been flung up 40 metres. His injuries were very serious.

I just want to give my thoughts and feelings over this tragic incident.

It's a tragic and an unexpected crash. I was not home at the time otherwise I would have watched MotoGP with my brother, who was at home at the time. Nobody could have expected such a tragic crash to happen. I believe that this will surely affect the riders during the next MotoGP race. They will feel a sort of pressure and they will not be able to think properly. Their lap times will probably be longer. In My Humble Opinion, the riders must be able to cope with it and get on with their lives. They cannot let this tragic incident affect their daily lives and MotoGP lives.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The three podium finishers during the MotoGP class race were very shocked. They were Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.

It's really a tragic day for MotoGP right there after what happened at Suzuka. The track might no longer be used or they will enhance safety measures. All the riders have to learn to cope with it.

Make the most out of your life as you can,

David Choi, Hari Raya Aidilftri

David Choi. Now, a lot of people have no idea who David Choi is. Well, he's a YouTube musician. Much like MysteryGuitarMan. He has been YouTubing since 2007. The thing is, he actually makes the music for Shane Dawson. And I have to tell you, it's quite good. If you go to his channel, you'll find that most of his videos are covers. A few of them are original songs. Like his "That Girl"

I don't need that girl by my side
I don't need that girl in my life
I don't wanna talk it out or hold her when she cries
I don't wanna say she's my kind
I don't wanna say that she's mine
I don't wanna tell her that I love her more than life, more than life
Yeeaah yeahh
Love more than life
Yeah eah yeahh..
- David Choi's "That Girl"

It's actually a really nice song. You should download it. I've actually split up this blog post into 2 parts. Because I really don't have anything to say about David Choi. I mean, I only just found out about him this week. Either way, he's real good.

HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI
##################################################

Oh, the joyous celebration! Hari Raya Aidilfitri is coming to Singapore on 10th September 2010! 100910! Previous year was 20092009 or 200909. Dates in DD/MM/YY(YY) format. However, it's not coming to every single country in the world at the same time. So if you're fasting in U.S. , Singaporeans would probably be celebrating it. If you don't know what Hari Raya Aidilfitri is, well, I'm gonna tell right now.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a celebration after the month of Ramadhan. Us Malay Muslims call it Aidilfitri but the Arab Muslims either call it Syawal or Eid'Ul Fitr. Either way, we still celebrate it the same way except for one thing... DUIT RAYA AND KUIH!! Kuih or kueh is the malay word for... cakes(?). I'm not sure but the malay word for cake is kek. Duit raya is a.. well... the elders give it to the children and teenagers.

Anyways, Muslim people from around the world are always elated when Hari Raya Aidilfitri comes. The festive spirit just kicks in. You don't want to go to school, it's really really fun and you just don't wanna stop. It's like a reward for all the fasting you did during Ramadhan. Because you ARE supposed to fast during Ramadhan. No fast no celebrate. Simple as that.
