FIFA World Cup 2014 Brazil

Now, this isn't the OFFICIAL Brasil 2014 logo. I don't want to break the law or anything.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in Brazil. Or as they call it in Brazil, Brasil. When the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa started, there were quite a lot of concerns about security. Both in the "safety" security and the "I NEED HELP! THOSE VUVUZELAS HAVE BLOWN MY EARDRUMS!" security. Let's just hope we don't hear those vuvuzelas again in Brasil. Pfft.

Judging by what happened during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, we shouldn't be too worried about security. We might just be over-estimating it. Nothing bad happened. Just make sure that those matches aren't fixed. Now, to my favourites for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Yes, I know. It's still mid-2010 and I just posted one around 1 month and 8 or 7 days ago, blah blah blah. But anyways, here they are.

First of all the winner of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, SPAIN! They were my favs for 2010 and they will still be for 2014. Next is GERMANY! They were really good in 2010 and I had probably underestimated them at the start of the competition when they didn't have Michael Ballack. And last, but not least, whoa whoa whoa! Hold up a minute there!

The qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup haven't even ended yet! How do you know those teams will be there? What if Singapore actually make it?( Which I don't really think will happen IMO.) Yeah um, yeah. Well, technically Brazil have automatically qualified. Maybe Argentina. Yeah. Let's hope that Spain, Germany and Argentina qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. And we'll also see what other teams will qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup when the qualifiers are over.

We don't know the results yet. (We have about five minutes left. What do you think we can put in those 5 minutes?) Ermmm....so....hasn't the recent weather in Singapore been horrible, I mean, everyday it's thunderstorm, thunderstorm, thunderstorm. Why can't we just predict the whole month's weather with thunerstorm? Won't that be easier?

Oh yeah and the long, long rains at a time. It's kinda annoying if you wanna go out but it just keeps drizzling for long periods of time and then no heavy rain happens.

Back to Brazil 2014. I just hope it's gonna be an awesome FIFA World Cup. No vuvuzelas please! Maybe some samba dancing? Mexico had the wave, come on. Samba!!!
Who will qualify and win the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil?,

FIFA World Cup Final

It's me and I'm updating just about 45 mins after the end of the final match of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. Before I go any further, SPAIN HAS WON THE FIFA WORLD CUP!!! It was a great match, even though it went deep into extra time. Exciting and thrilling. Spain played really well. Holland didn't do so well. YOU---> Hey, maybe that's why they didn't win the World Cup.

Spain had lots of chances. Torres was finally played. Jesus Navas almost scored. Just imagine what the headlines would be like if he scored. Hahaha. Holland was easily outplayed by the spanish. Arjen Robben had quite a few chances to score for Holland.

Howard Webb did quite a good job refereeing the match, though he gave out quite a lot of yellow cards. IIRC, 10 for Holland and 4 or 5 for Spain. Heitinga got sent off. Spain almost got a penalty. Luckily, we did not have to go to extra time. Andres Iniesta scored in the 116th minute, being a hero for Spain.

Now Spain are both European and World Champions at the same time. The last time this was achieved, West Germany did it. They are set to defend their European championship in 2 years and World in 4 years in Rio de Janeiro.

VIVA LA ESPANA BABY!

Netherlands, Uruguay, Deutschland, Espanyol

I have yet another FIFA World Cup post. This time, it is about the semi-finalists. This is the FIFA World Cup final I'm hoping for: Uruguay v Germany. Something about it makes me feel that it is a classic. Uruguay, the winner of the first ever FIFA World Cup in 1930. Germany. A good team. MUST WIN! Believe it or not, the octopus that predicted Germany's loss against Serbia and win against England and Argentina, now predicts that Spain will win. I just hope that it gets it wrong like in Euro 2008.

MUST WIN! MUST WIN! MUST WIN!

Think about this first, guys. If Netherlands and Spain lose, they will face each other in the 3rd and 4th placing match. In that match, I WILL support Spain. I chose them at the start, and I'll chose them over any other team.(Except Germany)

Now, after the June holidays, I can really start to feel the pressure to the Prelim exams and PSLE.

GO GERMANY! DEUTSCHLAND!

Germany v Ghana

Germany and Ghana. Earlier today at the time of this post, they were in a match. The result, Germany 1-0 Ghana. I didn't watch the match, tho. For some reason, i didn't hear my alarm go off. I know it did, but i just didn't hear it. I watched the encore telecast later today.

It was the first time ever in my life that I didn't hear my alarm. This blog entry was typed entirely on my phone, with help from auto dictionary.

Edit: When I got to the blog on my laptop, I changed the font to Georgia and then changed my sig to the FIFA World Cup sig.

England and USA

England and USA. This time, they are not facing each other but instead, it's the results of both of their matches. To the huge surprise of many, England will qualify for the Knockout stage a.k.a. Round of 16. USA also qualifies for the knockout stage. Before the end of their respective matches, they both had 2 points. Slovenia 3 points and Algeria 1 point. If England won their match, they would advance to the next round regardless of the result of their match.

USA. Believe it or not, former US president Bill Clinton was there to watch the match. I only knew this at the end of the match. There was a camera shot of Bill Clinton and the commentator mentioned the name Bill Clinton. Every line of this paragraph has had the name of that guy. USA 1-0 Algeria. Bill Clinton. USA were lucky to get that goal in injury time. Slovenia 0-1 England. Bill Clinton. I missed the goal as the goal was scored just as I changed from England to USA match. Bill Clinton. :)

Later on at the time of this post will be Germany v Ghana and Serbia v Australia. Germany gonna be an exciting match. Now, I can update my blog via MMS or email. Updates on-the-go. But it's probably gonna be annoying. I mean, if I were to type a blog entry this long, it would be tiring and very time-consuming.

First 2 FIFA World Cup match results

The FIFA World Cup kicked off yesterday and many of my friends stayed up to watch it. Not only male, but also some females. I was on Facebook too. I only managed to catch the opening match, South Africa v Mexico. After South Africa's "World Cup Moment" goal, I was sure that South Africa had a chance to win this match. I was sad when Mexico scored. My high hopes for South Africa were suddenly dashed. The result: South Africa 1-1 Mexico. According to Yahoo! Eurosport, South Africa have never lost their first World Cup match. 14 Wins and 6 Draws(including this one). It was a good match. Lots of opportunities. South Africa had lots of chances to score another goal. IMO, the referee blew the whistle too soon. As in he should not have blown the whistle yet. South Africa was attacking. AFAIK, refs aren't supposed to blow when one team is attacking!

Now for the 2nd match. I didn't get to watch it live but I DID watch about 30 mins of the encore telecast. It was Uruguay v France at Cape Town. The result: Uruguay 0-0 France. It is still a shock result. The thing is, in both matches, the result was a draw. Uruguay and France have both won the World Cup. Uruguay won the 1st World Cup way back in 1930. France's last World Cup win was in 1998. My birth year. Even though it ended in a 0-0 draw, It was an exciting match. Like South Africa, both teams had lots of chances. Unfortunately, those chances did not end up in a goal.

Till next time, this is

FIFA World Cup

Tomorrow is the start of the FIFA World Cup and I'm pretty excited. The FIFA World Cup is an event that is held once every four years for a duration of a month. It is the highest international football honour and only 7 countries have ever won it. Brazil tops the chart with 5 wins, Italy with 4, Germany with 3, Argentina and Uruguay with 2 and France and England with 1.

This year's world cup will be held in South Africa as part  of a policy to rotate the event among football confederations. The official theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup can be found here(go on, click it!) . It is called Waka Waka and for some reason, I don't like it. No, I'm not racist and I don't hate other religions. I respect everybody.

With that out of the way, we can get on to the opinions. But first, here's what the trophy looks like:
Just so that nothing bad happens, I'm going to tell you something VERY public. You know what it is? No? Wanna know? Well, ok. I am not associated with FIFA in any way and the trophy and logo belongs to FIFA. The pictures were gotten from Wikipedia.

Back to what I said earlier. Opinions. A lot of people, including experts, say that Spain is going to win the World Cup this year. This is probably due to the fact that they won the Euro 2008. I have three choices for who's gonna win the World Cup this year. 1) Argentina. They have a great squad which includes Tevez, Messi, Milito and Zanetti. 2) Spain. Yes, Spain. I agree with some of the experts. I just don't believe that Portugal can win. And finally, 3) Italy. Italy won the previous World Cup. They might be able to defend their title. They have Buffon, Cannavaro, De Rossi, Iaquinta, etc.

And as 2 final notes, I do 60 sit-ups per day. 30 in the morning, 30 at night. The second one, you obsessed Justin Bieber fans can go watch your MTV while us football fans watch our
