Weezer is an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1992. The band consists of River Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shiner. They are best known for hits such as "Island In The Sun", "Pork And Beans" and "Beverly Hills".
Recently, they have appeared in many famous YouTubers' videos. Some of them are Fred, davedays, raywilliamjohnson, schmoyoho, Onision and TayZonday. They are doing it to promote their 8th studio album entitled "Hurley".
"Pork And Beans" has shots of stars of many viral videos such as "Numa Numa", "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!", "Chocolate Rain" and "Afro Ninja".
The song was well received by many critics and fans. It first appeared on YouTube and stayed very popular for quite a few weeks. It even spend 11 weeks #1 on America's "Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks". The critics felt that the group returned to their early days' power-pop sound.
My Opinion: This song is a really good song. The music video is also a very good music video, featuring many YouTube celebrities. It helped to really popularise the video. If you haven't watched Weezer's "Pork And Beans", go watch it now!
Beverly Hills is another good song.
Inspiration: Rivers Cuomo's story behind "Beverly Hills": "I was at the opening of the new Hollywood Bowl and I flipped through the program and I saw a picture of Wilson Phillips. And for some reason I just thought how nice it would be to marry, like, an “established” celebrity and live in Beverly Hills and be part of that world. And it was a totally sincere desire. And then I wrote that song, Beverly Hills. For some reason, by the time it came out—and the video came out—it got twisted around into something that seemed sarcastic. But originally it wasn’t meant to be sarcastic at all."

Beverly Hills is really catchy with its tune and chorus. Back when it was released, lots of people were singing it. I didn't actually know it, I just read it off the Internets. The Simpsons, the longest-ever running cartoon in history, made a spin-off version of it entitled "Waverly Hills" that was used in episode #LABF10 Season 20, Episode 19 Waverly Hills 9-0-2-1-D'oh.
Opinion: Though old, the song is still quite good. It's really catchy with the chorus. Watch both the music video and "The Simpsons" episode #LABF10 Season 20, Episode 19 Waverly Hills 9-0-2-1-D'oh. GO GO GO!
I hope that Weezer will be successful in promoting Hurley. For Muslims around the world, this is a very happy time as we are now celebrating Hari Raya/Eid'Ul Fitr/Syawal.
